Meet The Undertaker

If you live in the St. Louis Metro East and are asked, “Who is Bob Herr,” a few answers may come to mind.  Mr. Undertaker…Mr. Funeral Home…Mr. Collinsville…Bob who? Regardless of your answer, Bob is simply a man that puts the “fun” in funeral home…

As a 1963 graduate of Collinsville High School in the heart of the Midwest, he followed his father’s and his father’s father’s footsteps by earning a degree in Mortuary Science from Southern Illinois University in 1966, and taking over the Herr Funeral Home family business soon after.  Born and raised in Illinois, Bob has become an avid fan of the state’s own Abraham Lincoln, collecting priceless mementos and memorabilia that even the Smithsonian would love to get their fingers on.  And every piece of history has a story, and usually a very interesting one.  If you want to save a trip to the Lincoln museum in the Illinois state’s capital, visit one of Bob’s funeral homes.  Seriously.  This guy owns things that would make any museum or history buff jealous.

In addition to his love of all that is Abe, Bob also serves on the Anderson Hospital Board of Directors, is a member of the Illinois Funeral Directors Historical Committee, and has served as a member of the Collinsville Memorial Public Library Board, Collinsville YMCA Board, Bi-State Chapter Red Cross Board, and as the former Vice-Chairman for Collinsville Redevelopment Commission.  Phew!

  2. Good afternoon,

My name is Rebecca and I am from Urns.com We provide our customers with a extensive selection of cremation urns, cremation jewelry, keepsakes, pet urns and memorials at discounted prices. Beyond our commitment in providing quality products, our goal is to create a positive experience during our customer’s time of loss. We’ve been reaching out to various sites and blogs to feature on our blog at, http://blog.urns.com/ that we feel would be of benefit and interest to our readers and customers. I happened to stumbled across , Sunset Hill Funeral Home Blog, the other day and I think your site would be a great fit on our blog. We would like to write a blog post telling our customers how valuable your site is once our blog is live. Would you consider featuring Urns.com on your own blog? This can be a great opportunity for both of our sites.

I hope you’ll consider my offer, and invite any feedback or ideas.

Thanks for your consideration and time!
